Egoleech is the third studio album by the German Porngrind band Cock and Ball Torture . It was released on June 14, 2004 by Morbid Records and is the band's first album in which they did without the pornographic text content and artwork . This met with a mixed response from both fans and critics.
reception
The Eternity Magazine describes the music of the trio as " groovy Grindcore ", especially the reviewer highlights the change between growling and Carcass produced -like chant. Overall, however, the album is too monotonous and lacks the typical Grindcore speed. The Archaic Magazine points out that the departure of Porngrind from the band had already been announced in interviews in advance, in particular the clear vocal passages, alienated without a pitch shifter, would make the difference to the previous albums. Musically, on the other hand, the album hardly differs from its predecessors, the music is still predominantly in the middle tempo range and characterized by "lower-pitched guitars, simple drums and a clumsy bass". Volkmar Weber from Rock Hard finds few words of praise for the album. Egoleech tries in vain to groove and "after a few minutes" degenerates into a sleeping drug .
