Porngrind (other spellings: Pornogrind , Porn-Grind ) is a subgenre of Grindcore and originated in the early 1990s. Texts with pornographic content are decisive for an assignment to this genre .

Emergence

Porngrind developed in the early 1990s, and the German groups Dead and GUT are considered pioneers of the genre in Europe and the bands Lividity and Waco Jesus in the USA . The pornographic topics are usually grotesquely exaggerated in the texts as well as in the artwork and the appearance of the musicians and define the affiliation to this genre. Musically, the roots lie in both grindcore and death metal . Typical for the Porngrind is a dominant groove and distorted vocals by means of a pitch shifter . Well-known representatives today include Cock and Ball Torture and Cliteater .
