Cock and Ball Torture , or CBT for short , is a Bavarian grindcore and death metal band from Altenmarkt an der Alz , which was founded in 1997. The name of the band comes from the sexual practice Cock and Ball Torture .

history

The band was founded in 1997 and recorded their first songs shortly afterwards. The members were already with Carnal Tomb. After rehearsing for the first six months, the band went into the studio to record 16 of the 28 songs written during that period. The demo appeared under the name Cocktales and was re-released on CD in 1998 with an edition of 550 copies . Due to the pornographic cover, however, the sound carrier fell victim to censorship , which is why it was re-released on Shredded Records with an edition of 1,000 copies and a changed cover. Live the trio initially had a fourth member as a singer, but Sascha Pahlke took over the vocals in the studio. In the following years several split releases appeared with bands like Libido Airbag , Squash Bowels , Grossmember and the Mexican Disgorge . In June 2000 the debut album Opus (sy) VI was released . The recordings for this had taken place in late October 1999 and January 2000 in the recording studios of Subzero Records , after the group had reached a record deal with the label. However, since there were problems with the distribution of the album, it was released via Shredded Records. To promote the album, the group held gigs in Germany, the Netherlands , the Czech Republic , France and the UK . Among them were festival appearances in Rostock at the Arschoolio Open Air and the Czech Obscene Extreme . From April 11th to 15th 2001 they went on a small tour through the Czech Republic together with Ingrowing , Isacaarum and Lykathea Aflame with performances in Prague , Pilsen , Budweis , Ostrava and Nové Zámky ( Slovakia ). The band also performed at the Fucking Grinding Porno Gore Fest in Paris and the Ohio Death Fest Cleveland that year . Other split releases also appeared. For Big Tits, Big Dick from 2001 together with Last Days of Humanity , the band contributed a cover version of Mucupurulents Suborbital Ejaculation . In the same year another split-release with the bands Filth, Negligent Collateral Collapse and Downthroat appeared on Bizarre Leprous Production . Cock and Ball Torture covers Nasums See the Shit (With Your Own Eyes) , the GUT song Dead Girls Don't Say No Hasta la Vista Baby by Squash Bowels, Consuming Purulent Sputum by Last Days of Humanity and Doorway to Destruction by Suppository . In August 2001 the band went back to the studios of Subzero Records to record the second album, which was released in June 2002 under the name Sadochismo on Ablated Records . In the meantime the band performed with Gorerotted . Also in 2002 the EP Where Girls Learn to Piss on Command was released , on which the group Zombie Squad 69 covered by Mucupurulent and Cold Turkey by Ahumado Granujo . Tobias Augustin and Timo Pahlke have shared the live singing since 2002, so that one could do without the fourth member. In the same year the group played again on the Obscene Extreme, which was the second appearance as a trio. A few days later she was represented at the Brutal Assault and the German Morbid Festival .

Work on a new album began towards the end of the year while concerts were held in France, Germany and Belgium . At the beginning of 2003 the band continued to write on the new album, before later that year it could be seen at the US Fuck the Commerce and the NRW Death Fest near Cologne . The band spent the second half of the year rehearsing before returning to Subzero Records in early 2004. In addition, they had separated from Ablated Records and signed a recording contract with Morbid Records in November 2003 , about which Egoleech was released in June 2004. In 2004, Sadochismo was re-released on Moral Insanity Productions , with two songs included as a bonus. Later in 2004 appearances were made in Germany, including a second time at the Morbid Festival, and Italy . In 2005 the band could be seen in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. In 2006 the band played four concerts in Japan . In the same year, the compilation A Cacophonous Collection was released by Obliteration Records , which contains the album Opus (sy) VI , the EP Cocktales and the songs of the previously released split releases. Augustin dropped out due to a shoulder injury, whereupon Jacob from the Bavarian band Volxverätze helped out on the bass and Timo Pahlke took over the guitar. In autumn 2006 the band played at the Caos Emergente Fest in Porto , the Grind Invasion in Wolfsburg and the Bavarian Just Killers No Fillers Fest . She also performed with Pungent Stench in Austria. From 2004 to 2007 Cock and Ball Torture worked on another album, which, however, has not yet been released. After performing at the Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore , the band was active in Austria in June and November and at the German Bringer of Death Fest in December . In 2008 and 2009 other festival appearances followed, such as the Death Feast , the 10th Obscene Extreme, the NRW Deathfest and in 2009 at the Grindfest in Portugal and the Fekal Party in Prague. Also in 2010 the group played at festivals like the Brutal Assault. In 2011 she performed again at the Morbid Festival. In early 2013, Cock and Ball Torture went on a tour of Australia . Since then, the band has occasionally played at festivals, but due to professional obligations, no recordings have been released and no tours have taken place.

style

According to the Facebook profile, the band was initially influenced by GUT and Shirtale . legacy.de found that sadochismo "fat, grooving Grindcore with nasty gargling , but this time it really rocks and should also appeal to fans from the Death Metal camp". Also new is that the band sounds a bit like Carcass . In the songs, which are mostly in the medium speed range, they process the influences of GUT, Six Feet Under and Mucupurulent. Metal.de described the singing that can be heard on the album as "toilet flushing gurgel". The music is interrupted by " Samples from obscure Japanese women thrashing films". Meatknife was used as a comparison tape. Agressor from TheMetallist.com assigned the band to the Porn and Goregrind in his review of the album. The group makes use of very deep growls and samples from porn films . Mitch Booth from metalobsession.net , who also assigned the band to the Porn and Goregrind, noted that the vocals make use of pitch shifting .
