Last Days of Humanity is a Goregrind band with influences from Death Metal from the Netherlands .
history
Last Days of Humanity was founded on December 30, 1989 as a project by Erwin de Wit and Hans Smits as part of a concert. In 1990 it became a real band. In 1993 the demo Human Atrocity was released . Since then the line-up has changed continuously, the only constant being Erwin de Wit. In 1996 the band got a record deal with the German label Moonlight Records and the band recorded their debut album within two days. However, the record company could not advance the money and so the album was initially unreleased. It took two more years until the newly founded independent label Bones Brigade Records finally released the album Sounds of Rancid Juices Sloshing Around Your Coffin .
The album Hymns of Indigestible Suppuration (2000) and the live album The XTC of Swallowing Faeces (2004) were released on the same label . In addition, the group released some split releases and extended plays on various labels. In 2006 the group broke up after the release of the third studio album Putrefaction in Progress .
Reunion
In 2010 Erwin de Wit re-founded the group. The current line-up consists of Bart Bouwmans ( vocals ), William van den Ven ( guitar ), Erwin de Vit ( bass ) and Marc Palmen ( drums ).
style
Last Days of Humanity belongs to the Goregrind genre. This sub-genre of grindcore is primarily characterized by violent texts that are similar to splatter films . Especially at the beginning the band did without lyrics and expressed their affiliation to the Goregrind through the artwork and the song titles. Only after the first album, with the new singer Bart de Boumans, were texts written. Last Days of Humanity sees itself as an apolitical band and, despite various rumors in early 2000, has no racist background. These rumors arose when a racist was spotted wearing a band's t-shirt around the time.
