Egon Peffekoven

Egon Peffekoven (born April 4, 1931 in Beuel ; † August 31, 2017 there ) was a retired shipbuilder and honorary commander of the Beuel city soldiers .

Life

Egon Peffekoven, born on Agnesstrasse in Beuel, did an apprenticeship as a shipbuilder and practiced this profession in Beuel. Together with his wife, Johanna "Hannchen" Peffekoven, he also ran a lending library on Obere Wilhelmstrasse, which was later converted into a stationery store.

In 1967 Peffekoven joined the Beuel City Soldiers Corps "Red-Blue" 1936 e. V. and became a children's corps leader and treasurer. In 1978 he was elected commander and chairman and held the office until 2001. During his tenure were u. a. the cadet, children's and rider corps, artillery and the senate of the Beuel city soldiers were founded and the armory in one of the pillars of the Kennedy Bridge was inaugurated.

In 2003 Egon Peffekoven received the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon for his services to local customs.

Peffekoven last lived in Vilich-Müldorf , was married for over sixty years and has three children.

He died on the night of August 30, 2017 at the age of 86.
