Egon Schnabel (born May 19, 1937 in Wechmar ) is a former German biathlete .

Egon Schnabel is one of the pioneers of biathlon in Germany. The NVA soldier starting for the ASK Vorwärts Oberhof began training with the establishment of the sport in 1959. In 1964 he took part in the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck and was 24th in the individual. From 1965 to 1967 he won the title of GDR champion three times in a row. In 1965 he also won gold in the military patrol run. He was runner-up in 1962 in singles, in 1967 and 1968 in relay. He won bronze medals in 1963 with the military patrol and in 1964 in singles.
