Günter Bartnik (born February 20, 1949 ) is a former German biathlete .

Günter Bartnik won the bronze medals at the Junior World Championships in 1968 and 1969 with the East German relay team. In 1971 he won the GDR championship title with the relay of his club SG Dynamo Zinnwald . In 1972 he was runner- up behind Herbert Wiegand in the individual and won bronze in the relay competition. The highlight of the season was participation in the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo , where he was 15th of the individual. At the 1973 Biathlon World Championships in Lake Placid , Bartnik and Dieter Speer , Manfred Geyer and Herbert Wiegand won the bronze medal as the final runners in the GDR relay behind the teams from the Soviet Union and Norway. In 1974 he won the first sprint competition behind the Finn Juhani Suutarinen and ahead of the Swede Torsten Wadman the silver medal. In 1974 bronze in individual, sprint and relay were added at national level, in 1975 a second title with relay and in 1976 again a third place. At the international championships in Italy, Bartnik was able to prevail against international competition from six countries.
