The former hospital in the Lower Austrian town Poysdorf is an elongated, zweigeschoßiger building complex on the northern local exit with a south adjoining chapel with extruded, semi-circular circuit . It is on the list of listed objects in Poysdorf .

After the hospital was founded in 1657, according to the name, the Barbara Chapel was added in 1663 . 1864 has the hospital to a second floor increased .

In 1960 free replicas of a sgraffito decoration from the construction period were attached to the chapel and hospital . Both buildings have a common eaves cornice under a uniform gable roof . A ridge turret with an onion helmet rises above the chapel . The eastern chapel portal is marked 1663 in the south. The hospital wing is broken up by rectangular windows, some of which are fitted with push-in grilles.

The interior of the chapel is vaulted by a barrel with stitch caps. The choir has a groin vault. The column-framed altar from the first half of the 18th century has a picture of the apotheosis of St. Barbara, labeled GJ Gahsebener 1778 , which was restored in 1914. Additional features include an oil painting of Saint Roch and a foundation plaque. The hospital rooms are vaulted with ribs.

From 1978 the former citizens' hospital housed the local history museum. The exhibits included prehistoric finds, baroque tusk flags, art objects from the area and a remarkable organ keyboard by Wenzel Onkenfuß from 1796, which was formerly in the parish church. In 2004 the museum was redesigned to become a wine adventure world and renamed the Weinstadtmuseum. Since 2014 the building has housed parts of the “ Vino Versum Poysdorf ” wine museum .
