The former school building is a listed building in Düren , North Rhine-Westphalia , Schenkelstraße 6–8.

It is the former school house of the Reformed community in Düren, which was built between 1833 and 1834 by the architect Adam Franz Friedrich Leydel . The two-storey classicist building has a pilaster structure and one long side faces the street. The house has seven windows axes and a hipped roof . The original entrances were on the street side.

The official inauguration took place on October 18, 1834. The school board consisted of the Reformed preacher, two presbyters and six family fathers. The 73 students were taught by two teachers. The pedagogue Hermann Eugen Benrath worked at the school from time to time .

For decades the house has been used as an outbuilding for the Düren city administration. The public order office is currently located here . It is planned to move the Düren City Museum to this building (after renovation) in 2020 .

The remains of the city ​​wall at Schenkelstrasse 6–8 are behind the building .

The building is entered under No. 1/004 in the list of monuments of the city of Düren.
