God of honor Grünler
Ehregott Grünler (born July 17, 1797 in Zeulenroda ; † September 9, 1881 there ) was a German portrait and history painter.
Life
Ehregott Grünler came as the son of the weaver Heinrich Grünler and his wife Christiane Dorothea Grünler, nee. Carol, to the world. He attended the Dresden Art Academy , later went to Weimar and became professor of painting there in 1829 as a grand ducal court painter. He mainly painted portraits, among others of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Johann Nepomuk Hummel and his wife Elisabeth Hummel geb. Röckel . Grünler later lived in Leipzig . In old age he returned to his hometown in Thuringia.
Ehregott Grünler was married and had five children.
