The Eichholzkopf , colloquially just the Eichholz , is 610  m above sea level. NN after the Nordhöll (641 m) the second highest mountain peak in the Hessian community Dietzhölztal . It is located immediately northeast of the Rittershausen district . In the south-west of the mountain the Vorhöhe Ley (516 m) connects with the ring wall castle .

The Eichholzkopf is a southern branch of the Rothaargebirge (natural spatial subunit 333.00 'Cold oak (with Haincher Höhe)'). From Ewersbach , a feeder path leads east past the summit to the Rothaarsteig in the Jagdberg area .

When visibility is good, the view goes south from Eichholz to the 70 km distant towers on the Großer Feldberg (879 m) in the Taunus, to Greifenstein Castle 26 km away and to the Stegskopf (654 m) located 25 km southwest in the Westerwald. Close to the north you can see the Jagdberg (676 m) and Kompass (694 m) elevations .

On the south-eastern slope of the Eichholzkopf there is a ski slope with a drag lift and the ski hut, which is open on Sundays.
