After the previous festival in Chur, a Rhaeto-Romanic choir took part for the first time, which meant that all four parts of Switzerland were represented for the first time. A total of 3000 singers took part in 100 clubs.

The festival was organized by the Berner Liedertafel (dissolved in April 2018). The singing performances were carried out in the Bern Minster . The Chorlettner , built by Daniel Heintz in 1574 , was permanently removed for the construction of the auditorium .

Federal Councilor Karl Schenk acted as party president . The presidium of the jury was shared by Ernst Reiter from Basel and Johann Rudolf Weber from Bern , the festival director of the overall performance was the head of the Liedertafel, Adolph Methfessel .

Ranking list
