Georg Schneider (politician, 1875)

Georg Schneider (* 1875 in Frankfurt (Oder) ; † October 26, 1949 ) was a German doctor and politician ( LDP ). From 1946 to 1949 he was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament .

Life

Schneider, doctor and PhD Dr. med. , joined the German People's Party (DVP) in 1919 and was a city councilor in Potsdam from 1919 to 1930 with the mandate of the DVP . From 1926 to 1933 he worked as general secretary of the German Medical Association . In 1934 he bought the apartment building at Persiusstraße 12 in Potsdam where Hermann Mertz von Quirnheim lived for rent.

After the Second World War he became a member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDP) and the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB) in 1945 . From 1946 until his death in October 1949 he was a member of the LDP and FDGB state boards of Brandenburg . In the FDGB state executive committee, he headed the specialist group for doctors. In October 1946 he was elected to the state parliament and chairman of the LDP parliamentary group. In this function he belonged to the council of elders of the state parliament. At the LDP state party conference in Neuruppin in September 1949 , as chairman of the state parliamentary group, he was again a member of the state executive.

Schneider died after a long illness at the age of 74.
