Eiji Shirai ( Japanese 白 井 永 地 , Shirai Eiji ; born September 26, 1995 in Chiba , Chiba Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Eiji Shirai learned to play football in the youth team of Kashiwa Reysol . He signed his first professional contract with Mito Hollyhock in 2014 . The club from Mito , a city in Ibaraki Prefecture on Honshū , the main island of Japan , played in the second highest Japanese league, the J2 League . From 2014 to 2015 he played 13 times in the J.League U-22 Selection . This team, which played in the third division, the J3 League , was made up of the best young players from the higher-class clubs. The team was founded with a view to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro . The players were selected on a weekly basis from a pool for which each club was able to name talented individuals worth promoting; the composition of the team therefore varied greatly from game to game. After 126 second division games, he left the club in early 2020 and joined league competitor Fagiano Okayama from Okayama .
