Einar Torgersen (born August 24, 1886 in Drammen , † September 9, 1946 there ) was a Norwegian sailor .
successes
Einar Torgersen won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 in the 6-meter class according to the International Rule of 1907. He was the skipper of the Marmi , whose crew consisted of Leif Erichsen and Andreas Knudsen . In three races, the Marmi initially failed to cross the finish line before taking second and finally first place. With seven points overall, Torgersen finished the regatta in second place behind the Belgian boat Edelweiß II from skipper Émile Cornellie and ahead of the second Norwegian boat Stella .
