A Johansen (born January 5, 1893 in Copenhagen , † May 7, 1965 in Frederiksberg ) was a Danish painter who is one of the representatives of Expressionism .

life and work

One Johansen was the son of the warehouse manager Anton Westfeldt J. and his wife Nora Jensen. From 1913 to 1920 he studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen under Julius Paulsen.

One Johansen exhibited a total of 26 times with more than 50 works at Charlottenborg Palace in Copenhagen between 1916 and 1950 . He had autumn exhibitions there in 1918, 1919, 1922, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1928, 1930, 1931, 1932 and 1938; Solo exhibitions in 1928, 1930, 1932, 1933, 1936, 1939, 1944 and 1948. In 1931 he received the Serdin Hansens Præmie , an award given to only one deserving artist per year.

On his study trips to Paris in particular, Johansen painted colorful works with mostly impasto paint, but also winter scenes with bare trees.
