Operation medal flood relief 2013
The 2013 Flood Aid Medal was donated as a state award on July 2, 2013 by a joint decree of the Federal Minister of the Interior Hans-Peter Friedrich and the Federal Minister of Defense Thomas de Maizière .
Foundation purpose and design
The Mission Medal Flood Aid 2013 was donated in the Federal Republic of Germany as a thank you and in recognition of particularly self-sacrificing help in averting dangers and removing damage on the occasion of the flood disaster at the end of May and in June 2013. It can be awarded to full-time and voluntary emergency services of the technical relief organization, members of the Federal Police and the Federal Armed Forces as well as to third parties (e.g. reservists or members of the fire brigades) due to their special merits in cooperation with the THW, the Federal Police and the Federal Armed Forces become.
The badge of honor has the shape of a round, silver-colored medal. On the front, a stylized tidal wave is shown on half-sunken houses. The lower part of the medal bears the words "Flood Aid 2013". The reverse bears the federal eagle in the middle and the words "Thanks and appreciation" in the lower part. The dark blue middle part of the medal ribbon is bordered on both sides by the federal colors black, red and gold.
The reduced shape and the ribbon bar bear the colors of the medal ribbon with the reduced front of the medal attached.
