The 2013 flood medal of the state of Lower Saxony was donated in 2013 by the state government of Lower Saxony as a state award for the state of Lower Saxony in recognition of the aid provided by numerous emergency services and volunteers during the 2013 flood disaster. Dedicated flood helpers who provided aid in Lower Saxony at the beginning of June 2013 were honored.

The river catchment areas of Aller , Leine , Oker and Weser in southern Lower Saxony were initially affected . There, the rising water levels of the rivers led to flood events with many local operations. At the beginning of June 2013 the disaster was detected along the Elbe , on June 4, 2013 in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district and on June 5, 2013 in the Lüneburg district .
