Objection! The show of legal errors (own spelling: Ein§icht ) was a German television show on the private broadcaster RTL that dealt with legal errors from 2009 to 2011.

concept

Andrea Kiewel and the lawyer Ralf Höcker , who became known through the publication of several legal error encyclopedias, clarify legal errors in the studio. Special cases are dealt with in the form of short films and the people concerned are also interviewed as studio guests. In addition, viewers have the opportunity to send in questions.

In between the Hartwich rubric follows several times , take over! with Daniel Hartwich as the external moderator. It tests the sense of justice and shows whether people are right with their view. He checks, for example, whether you can read newspapers in the store or whether retailers accept torn banknotes as a means of payment. Hinrich Lührssen , who had already gained experience as a satirical external reporter on the Stern TV show , also appeared in the pilot episode .

Charisma

The pilot aired on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 9:15 pm. However, it took over a year before the show continued with the first real season. From July 14, 2010 to August 11, the five-episode season was broadcast on the same slot as in 2009. The first four of the six-episode second season were also broadcast on Wednesday evening at 9:15 p.m. on February 23, 2011. The two other episodes of the season produced in February 2011 were finally broadcast after a break in late June.

Odds

The audience numbers for 14 to 49 year olds are around 1.80 million and thus around 17% market share. With the total audience, the market share averaged around 12.5% and the audience numbers fluctuated around 3.20 million. The program thus achieved ratings below the RTL channel average. The first episode of the second season achieved the lowest value of all episodes broadcast to date with only 12.9% in the target group. The second episode also had to compete against football and achieved even worse ratings. Like the previous two episodes, it had to be played against football again and so the third episode could only improve slightly.

criticism

"... so stupid that it is almost justifiable [...] with the illegally crazy program [...] nice that a presenter who was killed by ZDF for surreptitious advertising is now back in action for RTL - in the legal gray areas of everyday life. There they are now legally sponsored by a legal protection insurance. So this woman is now clarifying what is allowed and what is not [...] The fact that everyday knowledge of this kind has to be conveyed in a terribly entertaining way can only be complained but not sued. 'Service Comedy' is the associated technical term in the TV industry. In the case of 'objection', this means that a so-called comedian named Daniel Hartwich goes around with a hidden camera and tries to fool policemen with 'knob tricks'. It must be like that. But doesn't such nonsense violate some right that we have but do not yet know. That’s the crux of the matter: Such programs, besides all entertainment, only serve the widespread righteousness. "

“If you want to moderate a help program, it should logically require a certain degree of competence, especially in the subject area on which it is based. After all, the main purpose of the concept is to provide information. However, one seems to have a completely different view here at RTL regarding “Einspruch”, the show of legal errors. There is no other way of explaining how a program about legal issues can fall into the remit of the presenter Andrea Kiewel, the swaying television gardener, who, given the first two editions, has as much knowledge of law as an average pig does of flying [ …] Andrea Kiewel is simply superfluous in the show. Her jokes do not ignite, her comments are redundantly unique and her penetrating «television garden» is extremely inappropriate for the actually serious subject. However, it is not the only problem with the concept. The fact that "Einspruch" was chosen as the title, which is about as common in German courtrooms as 'triple herniated disc in the neck vertebra', gives the show no really serious touch from the start.
