The 771 m high Eisenberg near Moosbach is located south of the village of Rückersrieth and belongs to the municipality of Moosbach in the eastern part of the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district . He is the highest elevation in the community. In the records of the land surveying office and in old documents, the mountain is also referred to as iceberg, ant mountain, Romersberg or Radmannsberg. The name iceberg is widespread among the population. In 2013, at the request of the responsible land surveying office, the name Eisenberg was now the official name.

In the Middle Ages ores were mined for iron production in the area of the elevation.

In the days of the Cold War , a permanent deployment (DEST) of the low-level aircraft reporting service TMLD of the German Armed Forces was set up there. Fixed facilities, accommodation and storage facilities for technical equipment were built. With the end of the Cold War there was no longer any need for aerial surveillance and the position on the Eisenberg was given up.

The fenced-in area and the now privately used barrack are still evidence of this past.

The exact designation of the position on the Eisenberg was Naila , 16./Fernmelderegiment 32 ( Frankenwald-Kaserne ) (Honey Pot), in short 16./FmRgt 32 Naila; Echo 4: Moosbach-Rückersrieth / Eisberg.

There is a 6 km long cross-country ski run on the Eisenberg. A touristic use of the former military area turned out to be not feasible for the municipality.
