The Barwałd Średni railway accident occurred on November 24, 1944 in Barwałd Średni near Wadowice . When a passenger train from Zakopane to Krakow collided with a German military train, over 130 passengers , soldiers and crews of the locomotives died , and 100 to 200 other people were injured.
