Tanwari railway accident
In the railway accident Tanwari in Pakistan some fell on October 31, 2019 6:30 am car of Tezgam Express on fire. At least 75 people died.
Starting position
The train was en route from Karachi to Lahore , a 1.548 km journey that was scheduled to take 25:30 hours. About 207 people traveled in the three affected wagons, a total of 933 passengers were traveling by train. Carrying gas stoves and gas bottles on Pakistan Railways' passenger trains is prohibited. Many of the victims were members of a group of Islamic preachers from the Tablighi Jamaat who wanted to attend a religious meeting near the city of Lahore. They traveled in the two affected "economy class" cars.
the accident
The Tablighi Jamaat tour group had two gas bottles and a gas cooker with them. Of unknown causes exploded one of the bottles when the train is traveling at full speed near the railway stations Tanwari and Liaquatpur in district Rahim Yar Khan of Punjab province was and the tour group wanted to prepare the stoves their breakfast. The explosion of the first bottle also burst the second. The driver did not initially notice the burning cars . The train is said to have stopped only after 20 minutes. In the meantime, numerous people had died, most of them burned, some also from falls while jumping from the moving train. At least 75 people died and more than 40 were injured.
The military were also involved in the rescue after the railway accident . The seriously injured were taken to Bahawalpur and on to Liaquatpur and the district capital Rahimyar Khan , where the hospitals also have the opportunity to perform plastic surgery . Some of the injured were taken to the city of Multan , some 330 km away . The other travelers were taken to Rawalpindi by train . Most of the dead can only be identified by DNA tests because the bodies have been burned beyond recognition.
