Ekaterina Panikanova

Ekaterina Panikanova ( Russian Екатерина Паниканова ; born March 15, 1975 in Leningrad , Soviet Union ) is a Russian surreal artist. She uses the pages of old French and Italian books as canvases for her works of art.

life and work

Panikanova took part in the team that created the mural for the newly restored Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow in 1999 and in Kursk in 2002 . In 2010 she graduated from the State Academic Repin Institute for Painting, Sculpture and Architecture Saint Petersburg and in 2011 worked in the art studio under the direction of the painter Andrey Mylnikov. For her works of art she uses a selection of books from different epochs and nations in order to combine them with drawings and symbols. In 2015, a Dutch wallpaper company licensed its paintings for a wallpaper collection. She lives and works in Rome .
