Ekklesia or Ekklesia Sisters is a Maltese singing group composed of six nuns .

Ekklesia

The group was founded in 2014 by the nuns Michaela Paris, Magdalene Cauchi, Denise Darmanin, Rita Agius, Claudia Mallia and Monica Vella just for the Eurovision Song Contest . All members belong to the Saint Angela Merici's Choir and with it released the two albums Ghallimni Nhobbok and Hudni F'idejk . The Ekklesia Sisters took part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2015 , the preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 , and were one of the 20 participants in the semi-finals, which took place on November 21st. They qualified for the final on November 22nd, where they achieved seventh place with a total of 23 points.

Magdalene Cauchi

Magdalene Cauchi (* 1955 in Malta) went to St. Joseph's School , later to the Convent of the Sacred Heart, and in 1988 became a social worker at the University of Malta .

Monica Vella

Monica Vella (born May 2, 1986 in Sliema ) went to St. Catherine's School and at the age of 16 also joined the Convent of the Sacred Heart . Today she sings with other nuns in the Saint Angela Merici's Choir .

Denise Darmanin

Denise Darmanin (* between 1974 and 1984 in Attard ) went to St. Joseph's School , later she attended St. Aloysius College . After graduating, Darmanin taught religion and music in a Maltese high school . During this time she joined the Santa Marija Accordian Band and became a member of the St. Angela Merici Choir .

Rita Agius

Rita Agius (born February 20, 1958) went to St. Louis High School , then she attended North London College in London . Before joining St. Angela Choir , she was part of St. Gregory's Parish Choir .

Michaele Paris

Michaela Paris (born July 14, 1969 in Rabat ) attended St. Dorothy's Junior School in Tal Virtu, later she went to St. Dorothy's High School in Rabat. After graduating there, she went to Junior College in Msida and St. Nicholas Montessori College in London, where Paris studied at the Royal School of Music .

Claudia Mallia

Claudia Mallia (born March 19 in Malta) went to the Starbrights school of talent and sang in the Maltese Shalom Choir before she joined the Saint Angela Merici's Choir .
