Elżbieta Sikora (born October 20, 1943 in Lemberg ) is a Polish composer.

Sikora studied piano from 1951 to 1963 at the music school in her hometown. This was followed by a degree as a sound engineer at the Music Academy in Warsaw until 1968. From 1968 to 1970 he studied electronic music with François Bayle and Pierre Schaeffer at the Groupe de recherches musicales in Paris. She then returned to Warsaw to study composition with Tadeusz Baird and Zbigniew Rudziński (Master's degree in 1977). From 1981 to 1984 she took private composition lessons with Betsy Jolas and studied computer music at IRCAM and with John Chowning at Stanford University . In 1973 she founded the composer group KEW with Krzysztof Knittel and Wojciech Michniewski :

At the composers' competition in Dresden in 1978, Sikora won second prize with the opera Ariadna . At the competition for experimental music in Bourges she received honorable mentions and in 2000 the Prix ​​Magisterium . At the 1981 competition for women composers in Mannheim she received first prize for Guernica . The SACEM they recorded in 1994 with the Prix Pedagogique and the Prix Stephane Chapelier-Clergue-Gabriel-Marie from. In 1997 she received the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland .
