Cala El Toro

El Toro ( Castilian : El Torro ) is a place in the southwest of the Balearic island of Mallorca and belongs to the municipality of Calvià . The place is right next to the Santa Ponsa II golf course, the new housing development Nova Santa Ponsa in the north and Son Ferrer in the east. The El Toro commercial area is located in Paseo Calvià , which is known as the city's green lung.

El Toro is grouped around an elongated bay surrounded by steep rock walls, from which one has a clear view of the island of Illa Malgrats . Many of the houses in El Toro were built very close to the coast. In 2009 the port of Port Adriano was modernized. There are three golf courses in the surrounding area.

The distance to the island's capital Palma is about 18 kilometers. The last census in 2013 counted 1,215 inhabitants.
