Manuela Chereji (born January 4, 1990 in Ștei , Romania ; better known under her pseudonym Ela Rose ) is a Romanian dance and pop singer and a model.

Life

Chereji was born in Ștei in Bihor County in 1990 . She already enjoyed singing in her childhood. At school she was a member of the choir and sang at parties, music festivals and competitions. After studying music at Avram Iancu University, she moved to Bucharest. There she completed a degree in journalism at the University of Bucharest , but also occupied herself with music.

In 2008 she met the Romanian DJ David Deejay , with whom she recorded and released her first single I can feel . This became an instant hit and played on several radio stations. It was Deejay who came up with the stage name "Ela Rose" . Chereji liked the name so much that she immediately adopted it.

A year later, her second single, No U No Love, was released . The song was created together with DJ Gino Manzotti from DJ Project and David Deejay. In 2011 she released the song Lovely words , which was first released in Romania, but then also in some other European countries, such as B. Greece, Bulgaria and Malta could reach the top of the charts. In Greece, the single rose to number 1. In 2016, she became a member of the dance trio DJ Project , replacing Adela Popescu , who was the band's female voice until then. The first joint single Sevraj was released that same year. After about six months, Chereji left DJ Project in September for unknown reasons; Xenia Costinar was her successor .
