Adela Elena Popescu (born October 8, 1986 in Șușani, Vâlcea County , Romania ) is a Romanian actress and singer. She became known through the telenovela Numai iubirea and her membership in the DJ duo DJ Project .

life and career

Adela Popescu was born in 1986 in Șușani as the daughter of the teacher Doina Popescu and Doru Popescu, who works as a professor of sports. When she was 13 years old, her parents and her two older brothers moved with her to Bucharest . a. Took acting classes. Until 2001 she was a member of the band Viva , founded in 2000 , in which Elena Gheorghe was also involved.

Popescu made her first acting debut in the television series În familie , in which she appeared from 2002 to 2003. In 2005, while filming Lacrimi de iubire, she released her first album of the same name, which has predominantly influences from pop-slow and Latin American pop.

Then Popescu appeared in other different series and telenovelas such as Prea târziu (2006), Iubire ca în filme (2006–2007) and Weekend cu mama (2008). She played a leading role in the 2008 television series Îngerașii . From 2011 to 2013 Popescu played the role of Raluca Dumitrescu in the television series Pariu cu viața at the side of Alina Eremia and Dorian Popa .

At the end of 2011 she joined the Romanian pop and dance trio DJ Project and was the group's third lead singer after Giulia Anghelescu , who left the band due to her pregnancy. In 2012 the song Bun Rămas ("Goodbye") and 2014 Suflet vândut ("Sold Soul") were released, which sold many times. In the spring of 2016, Popescu, like Anghelescu, dropped out because of her pregnancy. Ela Rose was her successor .

In 2015 Popescu got engaged to the Romanian actor Radu Vâlcan , whom she married that same year.
