The Speckweiher is located in the village of Brand , a district of the Haundorf municipality in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia .

The approximately three hectares large pond located on the edge of the splitter hill country in the Franconian Lake District not far west of Brand and south of Oak Mountain at an altitude of 429 meters above  mean sea level . The Speckweiher is traversed by the Altmühl tributary Laubenzedeler Mühlbach . The Speckweiher belongs together with the adjacent still waters of Eichenberger Weiher , Branderweiher and Schnackenweiher to a chain of ponds. The northwestern Schleissbühlweiher , Holzweiher and Haundorfer Weiher do not belong to the pond chain .
