Haundorf is a municipality and a place in the Central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

geography

location

Haundorf is located in the northwest of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in the West Central Franconia region on the northern edge of the Franconian Lake District . The place is located in the Mönchswald region , a hilly and wooded hiking area. While the actual Mönchswald is located in the municipality of Muhr am See, the Haundorf Forest and the Graefensteinberg Forest characterize the municipality of Haundorf. To the south are several chains of ponds, including those used for tourism, including the Haundorfer Weiher , the Holzweiher , the Schleissbühlweiher , the Branderweiher , the Speckweiher , the Eichenberger Weiher , the Ödweiher and the Koppenweiher . The Altmühlüberleiter flows in the south and flows into the Kleiner Brombachsee not far east of the municipal boundary . There are numerous springs in the municipality, including those of the Brombach , south of the Graefensteinberg district, which gave its name to the Brombach . Other rivers in the community are the Laubenzedeler Mühlbach and the Erlbach . In the municipality, the European main watershed separates the catchment areas of the Rhine and Danube. The federal highway 466 crosses the community. Elevations on the edge of the Spalter Hügelland are the Mönchsberg (529 m), the Hintere Mönchsberg (500 m), the Haubenberg (505 m), the Mittelberg (512 m), the Büchelberg (465 m) and the Kammerberg (460 m). The Brombachmoor nature reserve is located on the south-eastern edge of the municipality . In the north the community borders on the two neighboring districts of Ansbach and Roth . The northernmost point of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district is located near Oberhöhberg in the municipality.

history

Until the church is planted

Haundorf belonged to the Principality of Ansbach, which was acquired by Prussia in 1792, and to the Franconian Empire from 1500 . As part of Ansbach, Haundorf fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria in the Treaty of Paris in 1806 through an exchange . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria, the municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .

Haundorf has been a state-approved resort since 1997 .

Incorporations

The new municipality of Haundorf was formed in the course of the municipal area reform on July 1, 1972 through the merger of the former municipalities of Eichenberg, Graefensteinberg and Haundorf. Obererlbach was added on January 1, 1977. Former communities with their districts were:

Economy including agriculture and forestry

In 1998, according to official statistics, there were no employees at the place of work in the manufacturing sector 29 or in the trade and transport sector. In other sectors of the economy this figure was 36 people. There were 923 employees at the place of residence subject to social security contributions. There were two companies in the manufacturing sector and three in the construction sector. In addition, in 1999 there were 71 farms with an agricultural area of ​​1351 hectares, of which 766 hectares were arable land and 583 hectares were permanent green space.

The district of Brand has had an industrial area since 2000, which is intended to encourage the establishment of industry in the community.
