The Erlbach is an almost nine kilometer long stream in the Franconian Lake District in the districts of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen and Roth , which flows into the lower Franconian Rezat from the right and east of the hamlet of Hohenrad in the small town of Spalt .

A few kilometers upwards, in the neighboring district near the church village of Untereschenbach in the small town of Windsbach, another Erlbach also flows into the Franconian Rezat in the same direction .

geography

course

The Erlbach arises from two sources about one kilometer northeast of Gräfensteinberg in the Tännig forest area in the Spalter Hügelland and initially runs about one and a half kilometers in a north-westerly direction through the forest. A good hundred meters before he would meet the B 466 , he turns in a small valley spider to the northeast, the main road follows him from now on to the left. After the Seitersdorfer Bach flows in from the left, it runs in an open valley and passes the villages of Straßenhaus , Straßenwirthshaus , Gutzenmühle , Neuhof and Obererlbach . In the downward part of the village, the main road leaves the valley turning to the right, the valley road continues as state road St 2723 next to the eastward moving stream, which now crosses the border to the Roth district and flows through Untererlbach . Finally, after crossing under the state road St 2223 between Hohenrad and Höfstetten , which is approaching from its valley, it flows from the right into the Franconian Rezat , which itself flows here from the north and bends at the mouth to the east.
