The Gutzenmühle is a part of the community Haundorf in the district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen , Middle Franconia .
geography
The wasteland is about 8.5 km northeast of the city of Gunzenhausen , on the federal highway 466 between Obererlbach and Brand at the junction of the district road WUG 22 to Kalbensteinberg . To the west is the Mönchswald forest , to the east the Erlbach flows past.
Place name interpretation
The mill is named after an early owner named Gutz / Guz.
history
It was first mentioned as "Ruln mul" on Erlbach in 1344; Siegfried Gabler, a citizen of Ornbau , sold it to the Heidenheim monastery . In a sage book of the monastery from 1402 it is probably referred to as the “Gützenmüll”. Around 1600 until the end of the Old Kingdom , the mill belonged to the Eschenbach Foundation . In terms of bailiwick and taxation, it was subordinate to the German Order's Office there, while the high jurisdiction was taken care of by the Gunzenhausen Oberamt. For 1687 it is handed down that the Deutschordensmühle belongs to the 17 households of the "Gemain Seittersdorff ".
Becoming Bavarian in 1806, the mill was assigned to the tax district in 1808 and to the rural community of Kalbensteinberg in the district court / rent office Gunzenhausen in 1811 . The change from Kalbensteinberg to the municipality of Haundorf took place in 1824.
In 1818 seven people lived in the mill. In 1846, Eduard Vetter recorded 1 house, 1 family, 6 souls for the parish and school of Graefensteinberg in his statistical handbook and address book for Middle Franconia . According to a stone tablet above the house entrance, today's sandstone mill residential building was built in 1857 by the miller JM Bogner.
In 1950 ten people lived in the mill property, in 1961 five people.
