Brand is a district of the Haundorf community in the Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia . There is a home for asylum seekers in the village .

location

The place is located approx. 5 km northeast of the city of Gunzenhausen on the federal highway 466 which runs past to the east . Not far to the southeast is Graefensteinberg . The Brandergraben , a tributary of the Eichenberger Weiher, rises in the west . In the northwest there is an industrial area .

history

Until the municipal reform in 1972 , Brand was part of the previously independent Graefensteinberg . Since 1997, Gräfensteinberg, and therefore Brand, has been a state-approved resort .

The residential stable of a farm is registered as a monument . The building is a single-storey, gable-independent gable roof with plaster structure and was erected around 1870.
