history

In the Salbuch for the Hochstift Eichstätt , which was set up in 1300, the place was first mentioned by name as "Höfsteten". At that time eight fiefdoms and one farm were recorded. In the Salbuch of 1407 only two properties were recorded and in 1447 only one farm. In 1671 there was also only one property.

Towards the end of the 18th century, Höfstetten consisted of one property. The high court was exercised by the Wernfels-Spalt administration office in Eichstatt . The Ganzhof had the caste office Spalt as landlord . In 1800 there was also only one property in the village.

As part of the municipal edict, Höfstetten was assigned to the Wernfels tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Wernfels, founded in 1811 . On May 1, 1978 Höfstetten was incorporated into Spalt as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
