Hügelmühle is a district of the town of Spalt in the Central Franconian district of Roth .

geography

The hamlet is on the Franconian Rezat . In the east, there are larger sand mining areas in which groundwater lakes have formed. The state road 2223 results on the street house over after water cell (1.7 km to the west) and after Georgensgmuend (3 km east). A community road leads to Unterbreitenlohe (1.4 km southeast) or to Mosbach (2 km north).

history

The place was first mentioned in 1294 as "Hückenmül" when the Eichstätter Bishop Reinboto von Meilenhart with the Regensburg Bishop Heinrich II. Von Rotteneck a . a. exchanged this mill. The Burgraviate of Nuremberg had previously received these places from the Bishop of Regensburg as a fief. The place name is said to be derived from the owner Hückel, who can often be found in old tithe books. The mill was devastated during the Thirty Years War and only rebuilt in 1723.

At the end of the 18th century, Hügelmühle consisted of an estate. The high court was exercised by the Wernfels-Spalt administration office in Eichstatt . The caste office Spalt was the landlord of the estate with the grinding mill .

As part of the community edict, Hügelmühle was assigned to the Mosbach tax district, which was formed in 1808 . From 1811 it belonged to the tax district and the rural community Großweingarten . On January 1, 1972, Hügelmühle was incorporated into Spalt as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

The place is now mostly an industrial park , there are also some scattered residential properties.
