Egelmühle is a district of the town of Spalt in the Middle Franconian district of Roth .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Franconian Rezat . In the south lies the Birkle forest area. The national road 2223 leads to the gap (0.9 km to the west) or to the water cell (0.8 km to the east).

history

The place was first mentioned in the Eichstätter Salbuch from 1407 as "Egelmül". In 1671 Egelmühle belonged to the municipality of Wasserzell .

Towards the end of the 18th century Egelmühle still belonged to the municipality of Wasserzell. The leech mill consisted of only one property. The high court was exercised by the Wernfels-Spalt administration office in Eichstatt . The Mahlmühle had the caste office Spalt as landlord .

As part of the municipal edict, Egelmühle was assigned to the Großweingarten tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Großweingarten founded in 1811 . On January 1, 1972, Großweingarten and Egelmühle were incorporated into Spalt as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
