Güsseldorf is a district of the city of Spalt in the district of Roth in Middle Franconia .
Geographical location
The village is located at the foot of the Hagenberg ( 476 m above sea level ), which rises southwest of the village. In the northwest is the Winkel forest area, in the northeast Am Bergel and in the southeast Bei den Sieben Brunnen. The district road RH 6 leads to Spalt to state road 2223 (2.3 km southwest) or to Mosbach (2 km east). A community road leads to Massendorf to the district road RH 39 (1.2 km northwest).
history
The place was first mentioned in 1294 as "Tv o stingsdorf" when the Eichstätter Bishop Reinboto von Meilenhart from Regensburg Bishop Heinrich II. Von Rotteneck u. a. exchanged the Bailiwick over this village. The Burgraviate of Nuremberg had previously received these places from the Bishop of Regensburg as a fief. In 1384 the place was mentioned as "Gussingsdorf", in 1669 as "Gißeldorf".
In the Salbuch for the Hochstift Eichstätt , which was established in 1407, there were 9 properties in Güsseldorf that were Eichstättisch. In 1671 there were 7 properties in the village, 4 of which were subordinate to the Spalt caste office , 2 to the Heilig Geist hospital of the Imperial City of Nuremberg and 1 property to the Absberg Vogtamt of the Teutonic Order .
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 7 properties and a community shepherd's house in Güsseldorf. The high court was exercised by the Wernfels-Spalt administration office in Eichstatt . The village and township government had the box office gap held. The landlords were the Kastenamt Spalt (2 whole courtyards, 2 half courtyards), the Heilig Geist Hospital of the Imperial City of Nuremberg (1 Köblergut ) and the Vogtamt Absberg of the Teutonic Order (1 Gütlein).
As part of the municipal edict, Güsseldorf was assigned to the Mosbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Mosbach, founded in 1811 . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , this was incorporated into Spalt on May 1, 1978.

Even after the Reformation, the place remained predominantly Roman Catholic. The Roman Catholic residents are parish to St. Emmeram (Spalt) , the residents of Evangelical Lutheran denomination to St. Georg (Georgensgmünd) .
