Catchment area

The Saugraben drains about 1.2 km². It is predominantly and in its upper parts almost entirely forested. The highest point is on or on a flat plateau hill a little south of Unterhöhberg, 528  m above sea level. NN reached. It is limited in the north by the watershed on the plateau to the distant Bremenwiesbach , which drains to the other Franconian-Rezat tributary called Erlenbach near Untereschenbach , on the south-southwest side by the watershed to the nearer, parallel and slightly above the Ziegelleitenbach flowing into its own receiving water . In the north-northeast, the noticeably shorter Klingleinsgraben runs from the slope of the Klingenberg, also parallel to the mouth in the lower part of the village of Obererlbach at the confluence of the Hohlgasse with the main road.
