The Büchelberg is 465.1 m above sea level. NHN high, wooded mountain west of the Spalter hill country in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The mountain is one of the highest elevations in the south of the Haundorfer Forest .

location
The wooded Büchelberg rises in the northwest of the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district. To the south is the village of the same name, Büchelberg , to the west of Wehlenberg , to the northeast of the Haundorfer Weiher and the Schleissbühlweiher . The Haundorfer Weihergraben and Wettelbach flow to the north, and not far to the west the Nesselbach flows past. The Altweihergraben rises on the eastern slope , a tributary of the Eichenberger Weiher , which in turn is traversed by the Laubenzedeler Mühlbach . The border between the communities Muhr am See , Gunzenhausen and Haundorf runs along the mountain, with the summit on the Haundorf side. The district road WUG 22 passes in the east.
Natural allocation
The Büchelberg belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Franconian Keuper-Lias-Land (No. 11), in the main unit Middle Franconian Basin (113) and in the sub-unit Southern Middle Franconian Plates (113.3) to the natural area of the southern foreland of the Spalter hill country (with Brombachgrund) ( 113.33).
