The Koppenweiher is located near Sinderlach in the area of the Haundorf municipality in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia .
The approximately one hectare large pond in the midst of Gräfenstein Wald forest in the Franconian Lake District not far northeast of Are Erlach and southwest of Geislohe at an altitude of 430 meters above mean sea level . The Koppenweihergraben flows through it. To the east is the Kammerberg . The municipality border with the city of Gunzenhausen runs not far . The Heidweiher lies to the south and the Schnackenweiher to the north .
