The Branderweiher is located at the eponymous place Brand , a district of the Haundorf community in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia .
The approximately three hectares large pond located on the edge of the splitter hill country in the Franconian Lake District not far west of Brand and south of Oak Mountain at an altitude of 432 meters above mean sea level . The Branderweiher has several connections to the Altmühl tributary Laubenzedeler Mühlbach . The Branderweiher, together with the still waters of the Eichenberger Weiher , Speckweiher and Schnackenweiher, are part of a chain of ponds. The northwestern Schleissbühlweiher , Holzweiher and Haundorfer Weiher do not belong to the pond chain .
