Elbert Dijkgraaf (born January 6, 1970 in Almelo ) is a Dutch economist and politician of the Staatkundig Gereformeerde Partij (SGP).

Dijkgraaf studied economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and received his doctorate in 2004 with a dissertation on the market regulation of Dutch waste . Since 1995 he has been working as a scientist at this university, since June 1, 2009 as professor for empirical economic questions in the public sector .

From 1999 to 2003 he was politically active as chairman of the youth organization of the SGP . From June 17, 2010 to April 10, 2018, he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament .

Elbert Dijkgraaf is married and lives in Rotterdam . He is a member of the Reformed churches and regularly writes a column and comments in Reformatorisch Dagblad , an orthodox - reformed daily newspaper in the Netherlands.
