Eleanor von Erdberg
Eleanor von Erdberg (born November 23, 1907 in Berlin ; † November 18, 2002 in Aachen -Laurensberg) was a German art historian and specialist in East Asian art .
Life
Erdberg was the daughter of Robert von Erdberg (1866–1929), the "father of free popular education" in Germany. She was married to the Mongolian researcher Hermann Consten (1878–1957) in her first marriage since 1936 , and her second marriage since 1961 to her American cousin, the research engineer Robert von Erdberg († 1989).
After studying in Japan (1934-1936), she lived in China until 1950 . From 1951 Eleanor von Erdberg taught and researched - most recently as a professor - at the Technical University of Aachen , and from 1968 to 1976 also at the University of Bonn .
