Companies
The company was founded in Chingford, United Kingdom in 1895 as The Gilbert Arc Lamp Company and then moved to St Albans . The company's focus at that time was on offering lighting solutions for public spaces . The company was able to establish itself on the British market with the delivery of the lanterns for lighting the Victoria Embankment in London. In the 1920s the company name was changed to Electric Lighting and Engineering Company , or ELECO for short . In the decades that followed, the company continued to expand its street lighting business.
In 1994 ELECO relocated the company's research and development to the newly founded company Eleco Technology , which developed construction software .
In 2006, the British software manufacturer Asta Development plc , which developed the project management software Asta Powerproject , was bought by ELECO. In 2015 the company changed its name to Elecosoft in order to position itself more clearly as a software manufacturer from now on.
Since 2016, the company has acquired other software manufacturers who specialize in construction software. These include the British developer Shire Systems, which produces facility management software, and the German company ActiveOnline, which develops software for the visualization of material surfaces. The company's headquarters are in London, United Kingdom. The software product development teams are located in subsidiaries in Haddenham, United Kingdom, Skellefteå , Sweden and Wesel , Germany , among others . The company also has sales offices for its software solutions in Karlsruhe , Germany (Asta Development GmbH), Parker , United States and Ede , the Netherlands .
