Electrelane is a band from Brighton , England .
history
Electrelane was founded in 1998 by Verity Susman and Emma Gaze . Her debut album Rock It to the Moon , on which mainly instrumental pieces can be heard, was released in April 2001.
The second album, The Power Out , was produced by Steve Albini and contains considerably more vocal passages and more structured songs. It was released on Too Pure Records in February 2004 . The third album, Axes , was also produced by Steve Albini and released on May 9, 2005.
In 2007 Electrelane released the album No Shouts No Calls and announced in November that they will be taking an indefinite break.
In the summer of 2011, Electrelane started a new European tour after a three-year break.
style
Electrelane's music is characterized by a wide range of influences including krautrock , post rock , jazz and occasionally klezmer . The bands are also new! , Sonic Youth and The Velvet Underground had a major impact on Electrelane's sound.
