At 3341 m, Electric Peak is the highest mountain in the Gallatin Range and the eighth highest mountain in Yellowstone National Park . It is located in the south of the US state Montana , right on the border with Wyoming . The first known ascent took place in 1872 as part of the Hayden expedition by Henry Gannett .
