Electric Turtles is an international rock band from San Francisco and Leipzig .
history
Electric Turtles was founded on Rügen in the winter of 2016 .
The band began touring actively in 2017 and appeared as supporting act for Melt Banana , LaBrassBanda , The Picturebooks and Black Lung in various German cities. Then they were taken under an exclusive contract by the Dresden indie label Undressed Records . In the fall of that year, the band toured with the Swiss blues musician Reverend Beat-Man in Israel . In summer 2018, the band was the only European band to be part of the Menashe Forest Festival in Israel, where they performed with Noga Erez, among others .
In autumn 2018 she released her debut album Birth internationally via Undressed Records. This mainly contained songs from the band's four EPs that had already been released. The album was promoted as part of an extensive tour in Germany, Israel, Austria and the Czech Republic. In spring 2019 Chris left the band to focus on his Cedric project in the future.
Trivia
The band is actively committed to protecting sea turtles by donating part of their concert proceeds to the WWF .
In September 2018 the band performed in front of prisoners at the Zeithain correctional facility .
During a concert in Chemnitz in June 2018, the singer Arik Dov's pants tore and fell off. The band continued the concert as usual without trousers.
