Cedric is a German post-rock band from Dresden who are under contract with the Dresden label Undressed Records .

history

The band was founded in Dresden in 2014. The band played their first concert in November 2014 as part of the Emergenza Contest, at which Cedric quickly moved into the world finals. The band performed alongside groups such as Kraftklub and Beatsteaks at the Taubertal Festival 2015.

In April 2015 she published her single Communion = Hoax without notice and anonymized . Then the Potsdam booker Torsten Guthke ( Bernd Begemann , Die Art , Linus Volkmann , Ronja von Rönne and others) became aware of the band and has represented them ever since. Extensive tours through Germany, Great Britain and Austria followed, including in the opening act for New Model Army .

With the help of a successful sponsorship by Initiative Musik , the debut album Levity was released on 12 "vinyl via Soulfood / Undressed Records in March 2018, and it became a critic's favorite in the post-rock scene. For the production of the album in the Leipzig" Off the Road "studios had hired the band producer and musician Eric Badstübner, who had recently worked there with the American band Limp Bizkit .

In the course of the album, Mark Chung (formerly Einstürzende Neubauten ) accepted the band into his music publisher Freibank , which among other things publishes the Hamburg band Fettes Brot . Then the Stuttgart rock band Heisskalt announced CEDRIC as one of the tour supporters for the Idylle Tour. Heisskalt canceled all shows shortly afterwards for health reasons.

Since 2019, the band withdrew from the public - apart from a few selected concerts in Austria - to work on their second album, which is due to be released in 2020 via Undressed Records.
