The Elephant Rocks are a group of three striking cliffs connected by shallows in the Palmer Archipelago off the west coast of the Antarctic Peninsula . They are located between Torgersen Island and the northwest entrance to Arthur Harbor off the southwest coast of Anvers Island .
A team at the Palmer Station named the rocks in 1971. It is named after elephant seals , whose resting places are these cliffs.
