Elfriede Krismanich

Elfriede Krismanich (born August 15, 1940 in Eisenstadt ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and AHS teacher. Krismanich was a member of the Austrian National Council between 1989 and 1994 .

After primary school, Krismanich attended a federal high school and studied English and German as a teacher at the University of Vienna , where she graduated in 1968. Krismanich worked professionally between 1963 and 1965 as a teacher at the Theresianum Eisenstadt and then from 1965 as a teacher at the Bundesgymnasium, Bundesrealgymnasium and Bundes-Oberstufenrealgymnasium Oberpullendorf. In 1972 she was given the professional title of professor .

In addition to her professional activity, Krismanich was also active as a staff representative between 1970 and 1978 and from 1972 was the district chairwoman of the Association of Socialist Academics, Intellectuals and Artists (BSA) for the Oberpullendorf district . In addition, she was a member of the federal executive committee of the SPÖ farmers from 1981 and from 1986 she was local party chairman of the SPÖ Unterpullendorf .

Krismanich was a member of the municipal council of Frankenau-Unterpullendorf between 1977 and 1982 and rose to become First Vice Mayor of Frankenau-Unterpullendorf in 1987. Between July 7, 1989 and November 6, 1994 she represented the SPÖ in the National Council.
